Training Programs Overview
Indego Africa pools its profits from sales with your generous donations to fund training programs for its artisan partners in business, literacy, technology, and health. With otherwise unattainable access to skills, information, and confidence, Indego Africa's artisan partners are able to engage the global marketplace on their own terms and as independent businesswomen. Classes are administered two to three hours a week at each partner cooperative.
ORGANIC CURRICULUM. Indego Africa created its own proprietary education materials from scratch, consulting source materials from a wide range of development organizations and experts, including UNESCO, UNICEF, and government agencies in Rwanda and the United States.
RELEVANCE. Rooted in a pedagogy of adult participatory learning, Indego Africa's training programs incorporate feedback from both students and trainers and are tailored to the cooperatives' business needs.
LOCAL TRAINERS. More than 20 of Rwanda's top university students, through a partnership with the NGO Generation Rwanda, travel to each of Indego Africa's partner cooperatives 3 to 4 hours a week to administer the training programs.
ADVANCED LEADERSHIP OPPORTUNITIES. Indego Africa partners with the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Women Initiative, a five-year initiative to provide business and management to 10,000 women entrepreneurs around the world, to connect Indego Africa's cooperative partner leaders with more advanced business education opportunities.
