IAP Model Gaining Major Recognition!
Thursday, 27 December 2007

The Indego Africa model has begun to attract attraction in major nationwide social entrepreneurship competitions.  As of January 17, Indego Africa is a finalist in the 2008 Social Entrepreneurship and Innovation Competition (SEIC) held by the Skandalaris Center for Entrepreneurial Studies at Washington University in St. Louis.  This is the third annual SEIC and over $120,000 will be awarded.

On the heels of this recognition, Echoing Green has chosen Indego Africa as a semi-finalist in its 2008 fellowship competition from among nearly 1,500 applications.  Echoing Green has consistently supported visionary leaders who have untested, smart ideas that deserve to be implemented.  Press release here.

Keep your fingers crossed and say your prayers for Indego Africa as we progress through these competitions!

Indego at the Oscars

Indego Africa's wine coasters and agaseke baskets were featured at the 2008 Academy Awards as part of the "Gifting for a Cause" gift bags given to more than 70 celebrities, such as April Scott of CSI: Miami (above). The gift suites are "exclusive and very selective" and Indego Africa's participation reflected their mission of "devis[ing] a gift that was trendsetting, philanthropic, multicultural and of personal interest to the celebrities."
