The Ann B. Zeis Scholarship Fund provides women artisans in Rwanda with free advanced business education at Indego Africa's Leadership Academy. This fund was established by Marta and Jeff Zeis to help honor the memory of their daughter, Ann Bernadette Zeis, who was a passionate supporter of Indego Africa.
For several years, Ann served as the chair of Indego Africa's Regional Board in San Francisco, where she worked tirelessly to raise awareness of Indego Africa's mission and impact. Before becoming involved with Indego Africa, Ann developed a passion for social good while studying International Economics at Texas Christian University. She became deeply interested in a branch of econometrics focused on allocating resources to generate the most overall good - with the definition of "good" reaching far beyond cold numbers to include human wellbeing and happiness. Ann had a strong desire to apply that interest and knowledge in the real world, and found an ideal means to do so with Indego Africa.
Today, the Ann B. Zeis Scholarship Fund carries on Ann's legacy by providing women with the knowledge and skills they need to grow their own businesses and improve their communities, creating brighter futures not only for themselves and their families, but for their entire country.
The Ann B. Zeis Scholarship Fund will be a pillar of change and hope for women in Rwanda for years to come and is a fitting homage to such a remarkable young woman.
