Today marks 25 years since the Genocide against the Tutsi in Rwanda. As we commemorate those whose lives were brutally disrupted by the enduring effects of those tragic events, we also pay tribute to those who rebuilt their lives through resourcefulness, courage, and dignity.
Rwanda has become an unfolding female empowerment success story. 61% of the Rwandan Parliament is now female, making it the highest ranked country for representation of women in the world. Young girls are able to receive an education and fill roles previously dominated by men.
At Indego Africa, we believe that empowering women is the key to economic and social transformation and stability. And Rwanda is proof of that.
Please join us in NYC on Thursday, April 11th for a special reception and Off-Broadway performance of Miracle in Rwanda in commemoration of the 25th anniversary of the Rwandan Genocide against the Tutsi.
