THE ANN B. ZEIS SCHOLARSHIP FUND
In Honor of a Remarkable Young Woman
Where Education Becomes Opportunity.
The Ann B. Zeis Scholarship Fund opens the door to life-changing education for women artisans across Rwanda, funding access to Indego Africa’s advanced business and leadership training programs.
Established by Marta and Jeff Zeis in honor of their daughter, Ann Bernadette Zeis, the fund reflects Ann’s lifelong belief that real impact happens when resources are invested in the people who carry communities forward. Today, her legacy lives on through every woman who gains the skills, confidence, and economic opportunity to build a brighter future for herself — and for Rwanda.
Ann believed that economic opportunity should generate dignity and possibility.
For several years, Ann served as the chair of Indego Africa's Regional Board in San Francisco, where she worked tirelessly to raise awareness of Indego Africa's mission and impact.
Her passion for social good began long before her involvement with Indego Africa. While studying International Economics at Texas Christian University, Ann became deeply interested in a branch of econometrics focused on allocating resources in ways that maximize overall good — not just in spreadsheets, but in the wellbeing of real people, real families, and real communities.
With Indego Africa, she found the perfect place to put that belief into action.
The Ann B. Zeis Scholarship Fund equips women artisans with the leadership, business, and financial skills they need to build thriving businesses and stronger communities.
Graduates of Indego Africa’s leadership programs go on to:
- Launch and grow small enterprises
- Increase their household incomes
- Support their families’ education and wellbeing
- Uplift entire cooperatives and villages.
In honoring Ann, this scholarship ensures her passion continues to ripple outward — from student to community to country — shaping a more equitable future for Rwanda.
