Economic inclusivity is at the heart of our mission
The Artisan sector is the second largest employer in the developing world. Yet many artisans lack access to export markets and the financial tools to run a successful enterprise – particularly women.
We focus on the growth of community based, women-owned artisan businesses. Known to play an important role in generating employment and reducing intergenerational poverty, they also play an important part in preserving the rich cultural traditions & diverse artisan skills abundant in Africa.
By training more women to enter the artisan sector - providing them with the access and education to become successful entrepreneurs – we’re opening the door for generations of Rwandan, Ghanaian, and refugee women to build and sustain a financially independent future.
Indego Africa is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit. EIN: 20-5874831
